Congratulations to 2008 players Tristan MacCormick and Jake Lauterstein! Both have been selected by the Mercer Chiefs in the 2025 NCDC Phase 1 draft. Tristan was selected in round 2, 35th overall and Jake was selected in round 4, 67th overall. This marks the first time Xtreme players have been drafted to a tier 2 junior league coming directly from the Ashburn Xtreme.

The NCDC is the United States Premier Hockey League’s top junior hockey level, a tier 2 tuition-free junior league, with more than 1,000 alumni in college hockey every season. This past season, the Mercer Chiefs were the Atlantic division champions and secured a spot in the Dineen Cup championship, they were also selected as the 2024-25 organization of the year.

Tristan and Jake have been a center/left wing duo for the past 9 years, starting in mites. They have played together every season, and have been an offensive powerhouse, both putting up huge numbers for their team each year. To now be drafted together and take the jump to juniors is something special. Great job Jake and Tristan, on to the next chapter!
